I disagree. I have found employers appreciate my asking about salary and benefits prior to agreeing to an interview. It saves them time and money to eliminate people who will not agree to little pay and minimal benefits.

Excellent Point and thanks for the feedback- you point out what should be done prior to even getting an interview - Going into the interview you should already have an idea of what the range of salary is and about benefits. I strongly discourage applicants from discurring this further during the actual in person interview. Avoid this conversation at all costs.
