What is a prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dentist who is specifically trained in the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth and has received three years of additional specialty training after dental school. Similar to the way a cardiologist would receive additional training to specialize in the heart. Prosthodontists are the only dentists to be certified as cosmetic dentists by the American Dental Association.
