During a solar storm in 2012, a web site in Sweden was broadcasting stills of the Aurora Borealis. I captured the stills, edited them together as a time-lapse movie with some frame blending in Adobe After Effects, then added a soundtrack from the wonderful Polyphonic Spree. The results came out better than I could have hoped.

    The source stills I used for the video were shot in Northern Sweden at an observatory called the "Aurora Sky Station".

    Can this stuff not pick up on hand held cameras? I seriously can not find one video of just an average joe having filmed northern lights - it's all professional grade cameras on a tri-pod, time lapsed or some shit. Makes me tihnk it's not real, lol.
