Thai protesters wearing red shirts broke onto the grounds of the country's Parliament Wednesday. They've been protesting for four weeks, calling on Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, whose military-backed government is under mounting pressure to call elections. The demonstrators support ousted former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.

@planet506 No. They wear yellow shirts to show their support for the king. Yellow is the royal color. The coup was backed by the king. The yellow shirts are made up of the educated and business class that want greater control in parliament since they produce the majority of the income.

The red shirts are the pro socialists. Under ousted prime minister, Thaksin Shinnawatra, the poor had a massive rise in their standard of living because the socialist policies of his party. Now the working class have are pushing back against the yellow shirts, who represent the educated elite and capitalists that ousted Thaksin.
