OH WOW! Billions of dollars in revenue?
We're in debt around 6 trillion dollars. It's not going to help shit.

This video fails to add the billions that would be saved just from not enforcing the laws that exist right now.

@smd09876 like i said we need to do anything we can at this point to make money it dont matter if u spent every dime u had on weed dont mean everybody els will and just to think of what all we can make from hemp yes it would take allot of work it would save america we are over 14.3 trillion dollars in dept ANYTHING WILL HELP we are at the point of hyperinflation and nobody wonts that to happen...

i think at the times we r at now the gov just needs to be reminded the worlds best cash crop at this point we should be doing anything we can the make money

there is no way to tell the real outcome of this, that is why it is a long term IMPLICATION, meaning a possibility of such an action. but yea i could be dead wrong about it, it is definately good short term for tax revenue and job creation, but i mean personally 2 years back when i was 18-19 i spent every dime I had on weed and this isn't too uncommon for teens. many late cable bills in other words haha. it has good POTENTIAL to put people in debt, but you can say that about any consumer good

@smd09876 - Didnt happen here in Holland... As a matter of fact, fewer young people smoke weed here than the average in the rest of europe. People aren't gonna start smoking themselves out of their homes just because it's legal. On the contrary, people will stress it a lot less, since now they know the supply is always good and always there. Legalization actually has the opposite effect from what you suggest.

no it wont...

@foxygermangirl123 It'll be legalized eventually

ok I am 100% for the legalization of weed but there could be long term implications on the economy. this is just theory, but yes the gov't will be earning lots of tax revenue, but the med system for weed now still is expensive, $40-60 per 1/8. I can very easily see many many people in America spending all their money on weed, going into debt, defaulting on payments, then a whole new downturn of economic events. mayb not this extreme but i think the average american's debt will increase.
Anyone can make their own beer too. But given the time and effort it takes, it's easier to just go buy a 6-pack. If weed were legal,I'm sure lots of people would start growing. Defintely more than the beer brewing community. But rest assured, the majority wouldn't bother with the time and effort it takes and will find it easier just to buy it at a store.

ive been saying this for years. if its taxed half as much as cigarets, the amount of money would be rediculus. not to mention the amount of money that would be saved due to the millions of people in prison every year that tax payers have to support for petty drug offences. its not half as dangerous to a person as tobaco or liquar but they are both legal. even if there was a liscense to grow or sale would bring in billons a year alone.
