This is the 2003 Theatrical Trailer for the South Korean-made Anime, known as 'SKY BLUE,' a.k.a 'WONDERFUL DAYS.'
The Sci-Fi Story takes place in the year 2142 A.D, within a bleak, high-tech dystopian setting.
This anime features a combination of 3D CG-I & Hand-Drawn 2D Cel Animation.

More competition between Japanese & Korean Anime Studios should hopefully mean better quality anime for the fans in the end who buy/rent/watch them.

That's kind of the idea: they want to imitate the Japanese style of anime, because that's what works best for now. People notice.
Personally, I would prefer if they came up with their own original style, though that would be an immense hurdle for them to overcome. Current anime fans can be very picky about what they like.
In the end, if the Koreans can make an original visual style stick, more power to them. They settled for copying anime, for now.
