'Twas a beautiful evening when I got home from work so went for a leisurely ride up to Evans Pass which is between Sumner and Lyttelton. Stopped to admire the view and found another biker, Jeremy, doing the same thing. As we were chatting about bikes and cameras etc another gentleman arrived on his Guzzi which I had to get a pic of. Hadn't seen such a modern one before. He seemed very proud of it. It was immaculate, obviously his pride and joy ... fair enough too!
Had to stop at the Cop Shop on the way home. Not because either of these two seemed a bit dodgy but because we may have spotted someone in trouble on the other side of the harbor.

Oh yea, this ride was to test the latest bit of tinkering. I wanted to power the camera on my helmet so I extended the power cord from under the seat, added a couple of RCA plugs that can easily come unplugged just by pulling (incase I exit the bike in a hurry, one at bike end, one by camera), ran the cable up thru the jacket and hey presto. Seems to work fine!

  • i am buying one today i hope it is as nice as you made it look!

  • @killrobotdie What are you buying today? A BMW? Well done! ;)

I'm guessing you mean the Xacti? I've upgraded to the Gopro HD, which I'm fully in love with, but I think the Xacti C4 with the polariser filter on it was a very nice SD setup. Had alot of fun with it.

I also extended the mics out from the back of the screen so I could tuck them into the helmet. That way I could either chat as I rode or at least get more engine noise and less wind noise.

  • @peeteey yeah but I am getting a 1986 r80 its gonna be my first bike but it seams really nice and the sound and look are amazing.

  • @killrobotdie Well done! Do you mean first bike ever or first big bike after you've got your license?

Either way, they're a great bike! Even tho they're powerful, they're very smooth, unlike a sports bike of similar size.

They're very understanding and with a low centre of gravity, very light feeling and nimble. Would love to see some pics or video when you get it.
