  • Tracking needs some work, of course, but other than that great job! Wasn't this on an IndyMogul YourFX episode?

  • @Beandude202 Thanks man, i remember uploading it to the Indymogul site a while back but i never saw that it got accepted. Can you link me to it?

  • The tracking could be better ;) There are much failures. But the Rendering, spaceship and lighting is very nice dude ;)

  • thanks, i have no idea why the tracking came out glitchy.

  • that is so amazing! i wish i could design that kind of stuff...

How did you manage to preserve the quality of the video while it it is edited in AAE and Vegas? I did that too once with the same programs, but the quality came out really bad.

  • in AAE render quicktime .mov, and in vegas render windows media video .wmv at like 6mbps

  • X-files music!!!

  • Just a suggestion - that's something I would try, I'd fiddle around with the opacity settings for both the ship and its new underlayer til it looked "right" to me.

  • For the record, the shot I think works the LEAST well is the one 00:23. It just doesn't look quite as natural and convincing. I think - and this is just something I would try, I'm no professional by any stretch, and remember too that I'm colorblind ;P - but I think that, using PS or GIMP, if you made an underlayer of the ship's outline and colored it something like light solid gray or off-white (not straight white) and then reduced the ship's opacity, it may blend it with the scenery better :)

  • Oooh cool! Love the ship's appearance.

My favorite shot is the one at about 00:18. That one - in my opinion - looks the most photorealistic set against its backdrop. I guess it could that it looks a little more opaque - and lighter in contrast, although that may just be me since I'm mostly colorblind - but fits easier into the background.

Very nice work! Did you create this model from scratch or use a template or what? Do you have any more models that you've made/are working on? :D

  • What tracking glitch? Anyways very nice! I'm learning to animate aswell.

  • When the wings lift, it would've been even greater if you had shown it taking off, nice and slowly to get the feel of a large ship taking off. Good cgi though!

  • great work! and the tracking isnt that bad...

  • Dude....

    That looks Fucking amazing !!!

    you rock

  • Great modeling, but the tracking isn't that good. Nevertheless: very good job you did there!
