I'm pitching a pretty cool diamagnetic levitation sculpture on kickstarter. (Search for 'levitation'.) Fully adjustable, so you could buy your own magnets and experiment too!

Actually, more correctly, floating pencil *lead* but close enough! Don't want to put too fine a point on it! (ar ar) Thanks for posting.

@boxofcrap1 It does, keep at it,

@boxofcrap1 Some graphite in mechanical pencils is weakly paramagnetic, as certain companies add iron to the mixture.

1:09 U BROKE IT LOL

if it would not be without weight, the magnets would be creating the weatless illusion, wright?
-
Yes youre correct.....Items that are truly levitating would weigh nothing, weight shown on scales is in fact the amount of gravitational pull on the item, no gravitational pull = anti gravity = levitation, which = no weight registering on the scales, I know its hard to get the old head round, LOL, my old head was hurting too !!! LOL, think I will put a video up soon to let you see what I mean.. thanks for comment.
i doesnt work

Of course it does work. :-)
Just try it as discribed below.
But pay attention that the carbon lead isn't too thick and so too heavy to levitate on its own.
The diameter of this carbon lead is about 0,7mm or 0.027inches.

do you have to do this with like 10 nydimieum magnents?
pr will 1 work
and is that 0.9 lead, because its thiker

The diameter of this carbon lead is about 0,7mm or 0.027inches.
The number of magnets depends on the length of your lead.

is it electromagnetic or just sonme normal magnets? I want to make it too!!!

These are just normal strong neodymium-magnets and a graphite-lead from my pencil.
Try it an enjoy. :-)
