think listening to the CD does the musical justice. after watching this it doesn't live up to what i thought, but didn't go to the theatre and see it.

Aw! I found it such a shame that this George had some intonation issues in the shown performance of "Move On". Maybe the available studio recordings and of course the fantastic Mandy Patinkin rendition from the 1986 film had raised my expectations. I'm sure this complete performance would nonetheless be yet another fantastic Sondheim show to watch.

Uhm, this IS a real musical. One of Sondheim's finest, and the most moving piece of theatre I've seen live. This production was incredible, and although I prefer the London/Broadway cast, both Hugh and Billie are terrific performers, the orchestrations have been wonderfully improved, and the set is still absolutely breathtaking. Just because you were bored by the lack of choreography doesn't mean it's a horrible show.
