  • This is the kind of thing that looks ridiculous and lame until he beats the shit out of you with it, the practice always looks comical and weak, and we think 'I could block that', but this guy would wup yer ass and have you on the ground before you can even get into your movie ninja pose and go 'Hi-Ya!'

  • also it's his exerting his breath for the strike. Part of how the power seems to come out (from What I've seen) is a modification of the "root" where one drives power from in other styles. The root steps from the rear leg to the hips to the striking limb in a straight line. Baji Quan seems to add the use of gravity and shifting the weight to add more force in the root when applying the strike. IOW, the rear leg gets an extra boost from the stomp driving through the line. That's my interpretation

  • @firestorm117 That's the basic straight punch and even that much I feel like its an oversimplification. There are subtle core movements and more involved

Are good demonstrations I think of bajiquan's fajing. It's an incredibly difficult thing to do correctly, and to have the sensitivity to do it quickly and with subtlety in response to an environment as chaotic as a fight, is quite an extraordinary feat. But to even do it all, feels amazing

  • @firestorm117 This is pretty much how baji works. You load your weight onto your toes, lean in slightly forward, pivoting off the back foot all of your weight flies forward and then sinks down sharply, pivoting off of the ground while your shoulders twist back and your torso twists forward and the arm swings in almost a pendulum shape, sort of like a hook to the body, but snaps forward, your weight and momentum travels through your shoulders, hips and knees smoothly forward

  • @Krashly then why did you click on the video. There masters who are the real deal & there some shopping mall "masters" for someone who disrespects traditional martial arts why not upload a video on what your capable of. Instead of talking negative about this form that has been trace down in Lee Shu Wen & other Baji Exponent's era.

  • @TalesOfOurFantasy

The difficult learning curve and the fact that many Westerners lack the motivation and dedication to stick with something for any longer than it takes to learn the most basic part of anything.

Although the route to mastery for Martial Arts is rooted in the basics, it takes a long time of development before many people realise how to apply it or develop it far enough for it to be used. Thus, martial artists have their style ingrained into them before they apply it.

  • WHY DO I FIND LOUD STOMPS SO ATTRACTIVE NOW (cries)

  • @firestorm117

you're forgetting the horse stance, it actually helps to transfer the body when your knees are bent and your center of balance is low

  • Try blocking him, he'll shoulder ram you, get on your inside and crush you. Great form.

  • @ChakraSony The reason why it isnt used in the west is because kung fu has a difficult learning curve and people focus on competition. People generally look for things that are easy to pick up and use but lose their ability upon old age,.Another thing is that MMA fighters are engaged in matches and not real fights. In a real fight; gouging, kicking to the groin, downward elbows, fishooking and anything that can be done in a fight will be done.

  • @ChakraSony i am sure u have nvr learnt this form of martial arts that is y u would make such a comment, what u see in this video of 80 seconds does not mean in a real fight, this Grandmaster will do this for 80 seconds. Its the matter of how u apply all this moves shown in this 80 seconds onto a real fight accordingly. Pls research more on chinese martial arts instead of criticising based on what u see.

  • @ChakraSony this is fucking ignorant it would be a different story if MMA allow fighter to poke eyes or break neck dumb ass just stfu
