Superman: Profile of an American Hero

The assignment was to make a documentary using footage from archive.org. When my first couple of ideas failed horribly, I got on facebook (because that is what we do when we get discouraged, right?), and I realized that I had access to one of the biggest comic book geeks ever. Now I was inspired.

The project started off as a piece about DC comics in general. Unfortunately that is a very broad topic, and it had to be cut down. Eventually I realized that I had the most access to Superman footage, and it became clear where my piece was headed. After tears of frustration and unwillingness to let go, I finally made the necessary cuts and, to be honest, I'm very pleased with the results.
