My buddies and I all turned 21 in 1968 and our favorite spot to hangout was The Cat Patch topless bar in Norwalk, CA. And of all the songs they played in that joint, this is the one that I remember the most. There were 10 of us (Terry, Mike, Doug, Phil, Tom, John, Eldee, Dennis, Mad Dog and myself) and they were all like brothers to me. By the summer of '69 I was in Vietnam and now, 44 years later, there are only 7 of us left on this earth. Great memories of long ago, never to be forgotten.

the color of the musicians need not matter, as long as the music makes you happy. i think they would say that they made serious GREEN!

I was the Sax Player in the O'Kaysions from 1980 to 1987. It taught me everything I needed to know about having a performing band and working as a Musician. Wayne Pittman was a good boss and always paid us, even when he lost money himself. I was surprised when I was called in for an Audition, because I ,too, thought that they were a Black band. I eventually went into the Army and retired from there. Music and Talent are Universal. Screw the Race Issue, willya?

I always thought, like others I suppose, that this was black singer. The reason of course is the soulful style and smooth, effortless singing. But wow, what a clean vocal. Great song.
