Meh, it is more fun getting games to work on Ubuntu. Besides, who cares if it is not a gaming OS. If developers would pay more attention to the linux community and whatnot, then there would be some decent games for it.

You could try disabling compositing (which will also disable compiz). Compositing has been known to lower framerate by about half.

Hi, i want to download Ubuntu.. Is the frame rate better than wdindows? Because on Windows XP I get 240fps~ on Counter Strike Source. Thanks

@ramdawgy Actually, you can very well play CS:Source on Linux. It won't be as smooth as it should be, but it's playable.

@Micbuns1 no penis. Read the description. I didn't have the energy to tweak it further and do more stress testing. I didn't mention that I was multitasking while playing.
