IRT Elevated Subway, B'Way & West 125th Street, NYC

This was taken from the 50-foot-high trestle for the IRT #1 elevated subway line, that comes out of the ground at West 122nd Street, flies across Manhattanville, and goes back underground at West 137th Street. The over-the-rail shot is of Tiemann Place, which leads up to the park at Grant's Tomb.

125th Street/Broadway Station! I grew up there in Manhattanville Houses. The Grant Houses are alongside the elevated structure (eastside of station). Love the #1 line, and thanks for this post as it brings back some really fond memories....

They use to have an 8 train. Not anymore though.

@NYCAsylum , yes that rigth. Iam from Germany and Friends our Familie living on Tiemanplace. Wonderfull Area near the Columbia University.

I hope this Sommer or in the next we Visit our Friends again.
