This video, produced by Frank DiMassa and T.H. Culhane, shows how inverters work to turn solar (or wind) DC electricity into house current (AC electricity).
not sure if this is the right place to ask but do you know anything about that Enasolar inverter? is it any good and can it by purchased for home in stall? Can I do the installation myself?
There is an overload protection of sorts, but each inverter is different. I made a drastic mistake the other day. My coleman 2000 watt is hooked up to the system at all times and If I need to run something heavy duty, I run the generator and make sure the inverter is shut off. Well, I recently bought a 5000 watt Aim inverter and it works great on the heavy duty equippment., but the batteries were low the other day and I started the generator and fried my new inverter. It was turned off.
great video, inverters are definitely the way forward, now we just need a cost effective way to harness radiant/solar energy....soon we will be charging the grid and getting electricity for free!
I have an off the grid set up with solar and wind. I have three inverters for three areas, but could easily be tied together, but I have been afraid to use more than one at a time. If I need more power than one can give, will it damage them to work together?
Outstanding tutorial!

I presume they have circuit breakers in the event of a current overload?
