awesome! i had seen born of hope and saw countless ads for this one but always thought it was a video game did not know till today it was a movie! considering the tiny budget this and born of hope are amzing if they had jacksons budget they would been better then jacksons lol lol does anyone know if other then this one and born of hope- aare there any others or any more lotr middle earth movies been made i not seen ?

This is so awesome. It shows how rangers behave when tracking. Unlike the normal film where you only get to see the hero aspect of aragorn, not how aragorn the ranger truly is.

However I agree that Bilbo's letting the ring go is the key and as Gollum remains held by its power even though he no longer has it his life cannot end, he must search for it. Whereas Bilbo, has let go.

You have to remember that there is 17 years between Bilbo leaving the shire and Frodo following him and 78 years between that and Gollum losing the ring so Gollum is only 61 years longer without the ring than Bilbo but he held it for over 500 years where as Bilbo only had it for 61 years. If the effect of the ring wears off gradually and in a linear fashion, and it took 17 years for Bilbo to look a lot older, then it should take Gollum over 139 years to get to the same point.

The problem that you get is that the film compresses time and makes the difference between Bilbo and Gollum's aging look more pronounced.
