The STS-135 and Expedition 28 crews hold a farewell ceremony and close the hatches between the International Space Station and space shuttle Atlantis. The hatches between the spacecraft were open for seven days, 21 hours and 41 minutes.

  • This was emotional; I know not much was done or said, but you can almost feel the connection that the people who have created and experienced the space shuttle feel about the spacecraft's last mission. I can also say that I feel a strong connection towards it, I mean, what's not to like about the space shuttle?, it's so beautiful and has contributed so much to our explorations in orbit and beyond orbit in the future. Your legacy will always live on space shuttle :)!
