Intro to ZB Block

Intro to ZB Block, a GNU/GPL (freeware) PHP website anti-hacking, anti-exploit and anti-spam script.

This video mostly deals with the hack and 'sploit proofing aspects of ZB Block, and those are the main functions of the script. It also does a mean job of keeping forums, CMSes, blogs, and commenting systems free of spam.

Sorry about the audio quality, my microphone really picks up the bass aspects of my voice way too well. I suggest you turn down the bass when listening.

I might like to mention, that this solution does not require operating-system level access like most, if not all my competitors packages do. Thus, it can be used on shared hosting without any problems, so long as the host doesn't "hijack" error pages to advertise themselves (paid hosts rarely do this, free ones are bad about it for the most part).

Would like to mention this is GNU/GPL V.2 Freeware in BETA development.

Not all serving environments are supported, nor will be, especially when it comes to php running in safe-mode, or servers with mal-set permissions.

I will do my best however to help when I can.

Don't forget to update to the latest signatures for ZB Block after installation! Simply download, unzip, and upload to the /vault/ directory.

Have to say, within an hour of installing and setting up ZB Block, it's already caught around 23 malicious connections from russia and china.

@FireMario64DS Due to some people not liking the preemptive blocks against certain known bad IP ranges (Thoroughly researched), we now distribute an "unblocked" signature file that has no pre-emptive data in it.

All blocks made by that are based on behavior, or a bad report from a remote blocklist. (Oh, and if TOR blocking is turned on, it will block that.)

I am back here to say that Zbblock is still going strong after a year! As long as I have Zaphod and Zbblock in my corner I know I am safe. If you have a PHP based website/forum/blog and you do not use this script please take the challenge! Install, wait a few hours and then go check your logs. You will be amazed! Do not forget to keep your script updated as that is very important. Zaphod makes it very easy to get the alerts to these updates by subscribing to his forum! THANK YOU!
