  • do all saws have an oil pump or just the higher end ones like husqvarna and stihl?

  • @pivotboy63 most saws have an oil pump, some work on pressure from the crankcase like the old homelite super 2

  • air gun works better than putting rope down the cylinder

  • @mrcountryboy1234567 that's what i usually use, the air gun, I did it this way because most people watching don't have one, take care, don

  • i have a consumer grade husky saw, and am having trouble re-installing the chain brake after replacing the chain. do you have any tricks for placing the chain brake back over the clutch assembly ? mine is extremely tight, to the point of not allowing the brake to be reinstalled. thanks, great videos !

  • @drz400ccus what saw do you hav? make sure the chain adjuster pin goes into the groove on the bar, sometimes they need to be loosened after putting a new chain and make sure the chainbrake isn't pushed on?

  • Sorry,,, meant sharpen the chain... and used the flat file to get rid of imperfections along side of the bar.

    Regards

    Jay

  • Don; Was doing basic maintenance on my HV Mod 61 1998 as learned from you.. I noticed that the brake clutch cover is tainted with a black oil film. Is that normal. In addition to that when checking the spark plug there was a small oil drop the side of the spark plug and the threading of the spark plug was oil weted..mm I´m kind of concern, any diagnose? it also stalls on me even when hot. could that be the H and L adjustment ?? thanks for any advise. I clean filter, bar and sharpened the bar.

  • @baronesstoro as he said in the video, the rope is sure not to damage the piston. it's soft and cushions it a bit. The piston stopper, although quite unlikely, could damage the crown of the piston if enough pressure were applied.

  • @mrcountryboy1234567 i used the air gun and it broke the shaft so now i have more parts to buy and work to do

  • I just did this job on my 281 xp, and put the rim sprocket back on back to front. Could'nt understand why it was so noisy. After watching this vid I realised my mistake.

    Thanks to uploader;-)

  • Why do you use the rope?

I can take it off more safely if I use the pistonstopper.

  • Great tips. Thanks for posting this.

  • @fernandudelicia gracias, i am from canada
