i have one but after 6 months of using it its lost its hook and wont even hook alot on dry lanes anymore so i bought a tropical heat today which hooks more than the smash zone ever did :D

Bought the Twisted Fury Solid, last year.
Hardly ever used it. No reaction.
I just bought an "Ebonite - Pin Slasher" the other day, and it was $149 well spent, instead of the $179 wasted last fall.

Actually, the ball is creating the illusion that it doesn't hook because the pattern you're most likely bowling on is lighter than that in the video. The Solid is a great ball to have when the lanes are flooded.
-
The reason you get this inconsistent reaction is because the Solid is rolling too early. If you move far enough in you should be able to get it enough oil but it would be advisable to just use another ball like the Strike Zone which would be able to push through the heads on a normal volume pattern.
-
The video should have showed the ball on a shorter pattern where it would perform better. The Strike Zone is not for heavy oil and should never be used on a pattern like that used in this video.

The Twisted Fury Solid is designed for heavy oil. When used on typical house conditions (mostly what those complaining here bowl on) the ball rolls out so early it makes hardly any move on the back end and consequently hits weakly. On heavy oil, though, the Twisted Fury Solid performs brilliantly. Balls like the original Twisted Fury skid right past the break point making it hard to hit the pocket let alone carry. The Solid reacts predictably and hits like a truck on heavy oil.

SZ: I swear BY this ball and not at it like the TFS. The vid does not do it justice. It gets through the front nicely and gets to the back and unleashes all hell. You don't need to be square in the pocket even, get it close to the pocket and it will destroy everything in the pin deck. The back end rolls very violently for me and is controllable. However my favorite thing about this ball, no over-under reaction! That and it gets corner pins out very fast. If you don't have a sz, then you need one

Well i have both of these balls and have found different reactions than the guy in the vid.
TFS: Extremely inconsistant. You will get different reactions from this ball every time regardless of the pattern. Shoot on the same pattern twice and it will do different things. In terms of hitting it varies. I have times where it abuses the pins and others where it hits the pins with less strength than a 6 pound plastic being thrown slower than norm duke. But there much better balls out than this.

twisted solid hits like garbage....smash zone is a really good ball
if you want length with some serious flip on the end? get the twisted fury (not solid) axis weight. i have one.. THIS BALL SLAPS THE PINS AROUND LIKE A HOOKER THAT OWES HER PIMP SOME MONEY.

Id recommend the pearl it goes longer and has a very violent snap on the back end.
