Great Anime, why did it stop?

I think it was budgeting issues. I know the Manga had a lot more of the series and covered soooo much more than the anime did.(Like what happens after the Eclipse, etc) but I think the manga was also discontinued. its a shame. One of many rare gems in anime nowadays IMO

God, this is depressing

I mean, don't get me wrong. It's also really well done and touching, and you can't help but feel good considering they both went through so much shit and now finally have a moment of happiness. But still, in light of what happens next, you can't help but mourn what's going to be lost to them in a mere few episodes, especially Casca.

AHHHH THIS SHOW WAS SO GOOD! Seriously, if they revisited Inuyasha to animate the last part, they damn well should for this one too.

Guts and Casca are one of my favourite anime couples ever. So tragic.

I wish they'd finish animating this, I love the way they did it - the emotional music, those water-colour-style freeze-frames ...

I love Caska, in my opinion, she's the best female anime character. just her personality is unique, not overly aggressive, or submissive, she manages to find that very rare line of cute and tough at the same time.

@linkman214 No, the manga is still running, after about 23 years... Eep. It just has a horribly sporadic release/update schedule.

@linkman214 Actually, given that the anime was made in 1997, the Manga wasn't much further along story-wise. So it wasn't that they decided to just end it there, it was that there was almost nothing else to adapt. And Berserk is not a series that you can just do a whole bunch of filler to take up time.

No other anime/manga couple have had to endure more then Guts and Casca. They need a happy fucking ending. Ya hear that Kentaro Miura!? Give Casca her soul back, end this series on a happy note. Let them be together!! I personally would be heartbroken if they had some overly sad ending.
