Its cool if you don't like hummers and escalades. But having the government pass regulatory TAXES and enforcing bans on things like "hummers and escalades" because of psuedo scientific research of "global warming" based on inaccurate understanding of just how the world works and further sold to the masses by media isn't the answer.

Just becaues YOU don't like something someone else has, doesn't mean there needs to be a law to ban it. One day you'll find yourself on the other side of that law

current CO2 levels are at 388 ppm and rising. it wont be long before antarctica begins to thaw as fast as greenland currently is, which btw is rising out of the sea at a rate of 1 inch per year. when antarctica thaws enough it too will rise out of the sea. it is connected to every tectonic plate around the world and will crack the earths crust. this isnt doomsday bull, this is science, and quite likely the worse threat facing mankind.

Its been melting and freezing for millions of years, again and again. The day the Earth shakes us off, it'll just repeat on getting hot and cold. Its a planet people, thats just what planets do.

I agree with you on much of what you say but that leaves me baffled. Why are you skeptical of a massive amount of science that goes against the interests of these people who we agree are causing so many problems? You have an issue here that is a problem for big oil and coal and presents the "danger" of united world action. This has the free enterprise and fossil fuel companies doing what the tobacco industry did years ago.

AGW requires change which is always dangerous to elites.

I agree that correct application of the sciences can solve many, many things, even unify us with our environment to such a degree that what we build is alive, not needing maintenance etc. but big business hitmen buy up projects and sit on them for decades so they can continue to stagnate humanity in this current dirty industry age, reaping mass profit all the while.

Science is definitely kept on a short leash, there are probably things going on that would stupefy the mind, tech wise

We should be skeptical of government but also realize we need community to function and requires organization. There are certain issues that need world standards and thus we need a form of world government.

I am an environmentalist, but I am also a devotee of science. Science clearly tells us AGW is real. We need to live in balance. I like my car though. But I would like it powered by renewable sustainable energy. Science says this is doable.

Science is not making the bankers happy

I don't disagree about the bankers but I'll add in some of the rich cats like the Koch brothers who are funding and guiding the tea party not to mention many of the libertarian right wing think tanks. But these are the guys deploying the pseudo-anti-AGW skeptics/denialists.

The denial of global warming is to have fallen for the message of the very people you are rightly concerned about.

The real scientists and the actual science powerfully supports AGW.
