You are so lucky! I love this breed. It's very hard to find a breeder in the U.S. and most of the Kooikerhondjes in the U.S. are of lesser quality than the Dutch ones. I hear breeders in the Netherlands are very selective about who can buy from them and most want to meet the buyer in person, so it's very expensive for someone outside of the country to get a good quality Kooiker. How much are these dogs typically?

@jfkjrlover Yes, in the Netherlands most breeders are very selective about who's going to buy a puppy and also who's the father-dog, who is the mother-dog, are they healthy. The dogparents most be inspected several times, before they can get puppy's.

A Kooikerhondje-puppy costs about 700 euro in the Netherlands.

And yes, I'm very happy with Tasco, he's a very nice dog. He is now 14,5 years old and stil relativily healthy, although he is quite deaf.

I just found out my dog is part Kooiker...mine is 10 and still looks, acts and plays like he was when we first got him. Extremely active, playful...love this breed so much..nice dog, btw

@jfkjrlover we got one too, and we traveled to netherlands too, cause i think, if you really want a dog, youd pay a lot for him, even by traveling and stuff...btw, we used the chance an made holidays in netherland, beautiful country!
