Durch seine Insellage benötigte Großbritannien von je her eine schlagkräftige Flotte. Besonders in der Zeit der napoleonischen Kriege stieg die Royal Navy zur Seemacht Nr. 1 auf.
By its island situation Great Britain from ever ago needed a powerful fleet. Particularly in the time of the napoleonic wars ascended the Royal Navy to the sea power No. 1.
