mom was a pilot for many years.... looks alot like the pattern in formation she used to fly...
so i'm guessing left by a pilot practicing their patterns

It is interesting. I am just trying to consider possible explanations. I do not know the area or the aviation routes. I have at times seen some odd things myself. Keep paying attention to the sky.

see the roof on those houses..that is apprx. the size of one city block.. i never saw an aircraft do circles that tight

Anyone ever heard of an aircraft holding pattern? Research how they are used.

A holding patter could be many miles from an airport. ANd actually, that are used along routes as well. Not just near airports. Have a look at an aviation chart for the area and take a look. If there is "Air Space" marked on the map that could also harbor a high altitude aircraft in a pattern awaiting orders, etc. I watch F-18 fighters in patterns over very remote areas. Like Olympic National Park. They sometimes circle for an hour. Its called CAP (Combat Air Patrol) - Just a thought. Defense!

If that is the case, I have never heard or seen any thing like that flying over. So, they could be flying over and this trail would drop down that far.. intact. This trail moved left to right very very slowly , I was watching the sunset and this came from the left and as it moved across I saw it was some ring shape...I live between 4 mountains ant the base of 2, so that is puzzling to me.
