I'll Be with You Again is one of my top 10 favorite songs I ever wrote. I wrote it and recorded it on the same day in 1983. Sorry about the tape hiss. I did remaster it, but did not like the way it sounded hiss free.
I used to hang concert posters. I met Kelly Condon, the young girl in the pics on my rout one evening. We became friends. She was crying one night and I asked her why. She said that her brother was killed that day on his motorcycle while driving down the canyon. I told her that the following day I would take her out and do something crazy to get her mind off her sadness. This was during the great floods of 83. I ended up dressing her up in fishing gear and we took these great shots in a flooded church parking lot.
That day I also told her I would write her a song. I asked about her brother, her faith and if she believed in life after death or not. This is the song I came up with. I played it for her and her family a few days later after her brothers service.
A few months later, I entered the last pic in the Kodak photo contest and won for weekly B&W. This photo was the only reason my wife married me. While Kelly was out of town working, my wife and I had a great date tracking down all the onlooker for their written permission to enter the next step of the contest.
I might say that my wife's mom, without having ever met me, told my wife about the photo in the paper. My wife in turn told me after I had called her for the first time. What a great mother-in-law shes has been. Today - 2/5/12, as she is on her death bed, I begin her song titled YOU.
I ended up singing this song at my grandmothers service http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJf7hXMP-Yo and played it in a video at my fathers service. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk5bFfkS2J8 It is the only song my dad ever heard me sing live. To this day, when someone I know dies, I get the guitar out and sing this song.
As a side note, I could have uploaded pics of my grandmother, parents, kids, wife, brother and sisters, and friends, but this is Kelly's song after all. Plus, it was her message to her brother long before it became my message to my family and friends.

@MrECLECTICIAN Thanks Jeff. Does this count for walk on water, or in water? haha I have has such a hard time writing something I like. So I walked away from it, and came back today and wrote a whole new tune. I will try to record it soon.
