Ft. Calhoun Flood Defenses
The Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Facility is an island right now but it is one that authorities say is going to stay dry. They say they have a number of redundant features to protect the facility from flood waters that include the aqua dam, earthen berms and sandbags.Reporter: Gary Smollen

Yup, lets all support the Oil wars!

Although he did start out with the nuke report, it quickly dissolved away as he parroted the status quo line, that the plant has been shut down since April -- the assumption of course is that it means its safe. The veil of ignorance shrouding nuclear power is stunning.

This is a man-made problem!
Even so, the government will blame it on mother nature, even though mother nature lacks the ability to do this intentionally!
Make me wonder why most countries have taken the risk to build these nuclear reactors so close to water that could possibly become unstable!
Money, power, and ignorance sums it up to me!

Also, Americans should not get fooled by the mass media. These extremes we are currently seeing worldwide are not going away anytime soon. Precipitation extremes will continue to increase overall each year, as well as other natural disasters. All of this shows up in the geologic record for hundredes of millions of years past. It's explained very clearly in Not By Fire But By Ice - one of the best books I've ever seen. All science sources listed in back. Non fiction. But good luck !

@ZOEYMine That's about right. I have ZERO faith in any of these crooks called politicians. I've been aware about these so called Earth changes coming for a long time based on many factors - including a weakening magnetic field which can result in greater extremes, heavy precip worldwide, heavy record breaking snowfall, increasing quakes, volcanoes...etc. All part of the cycle, BUT they hardy report on that. People need to monitor this much more closely and take action before it's too late.

@ZOEYMine the dams are in South Dakota about 3-4 hours north of me. :(

@ZOEYMine I live 2 miles from I-29.. & where it is flooded right up to it. :( berms being built NOW not 1 month ago. :( If an older dam breaks? it will be more like a tsunami type situation.. & then 1 1/2 hours south of my town is Ft Calhoun Nuclear plant.. :(
ZOEYMine 8 months ago
@Chris6134 Thats exactly what MOST of me & my Iowa friends have said. Midwest is not important? President O hasnt showed up yet to MY town.. I live 7 miles from Missouri river. Only if people die in quantity will media make a story? just askin'.

Damned why the hell is this NOT reported anywhere in this nation ?? I knew about the winter snows and now the flooding, but I just recently heard all this going on about the nuke plant trouble ! These bastards not telling us what's going on there is criminal ! NO FARMS=NO FOOD. I'm in SC and people here often forget that our food comes from the Plain states. Now what ?? I'm gonna stock up on caned food now !!!!! I already have 100 gallons of water. Get ready !!
