I would avoid unusefull complications and play it with its original light and freshness, and not so slow and heavy!

i dont think im playing it 'heavy'. but yes, i choose a slower tempo. i prefer it. as i said below, probably influenced by recordings. piano was tuned but was placed in the sun by the tuner (way to go) before i arrived.

ik ben waarschijnlijk beinvloed door een opname van horowitz. ik heb hem ook wel sneller horen spelen (bijv. pletnev) en heb hem zelf ook wel sneller gespeeld maar voor mij voelt het stuk zo natuurlijk aan, dus daarom speel ik het zo

I am learning this piece! I love your expression. I thought it truly brought out the life in the piece. Also, something my piano teacher always told me was that if you don't have to play it fast you shouldn't. I liked the tempo of this recording. It's about the same as the way I was playing it. Thank you again for recording it! Truly a beautiful song.

Some people I know have played a duo guitar arrangement of this at around this tempo, i like the feel it gives.
