@leapoffaith20 True. This is why London is reducing the amount of motorized vehicles entering the city. Much of London should probably just be cycling or walking as cars are very inefficient. And I suppose if they experience delay, they can deal with it if whatever they're doing is so important that they need to use a car.

@DENJCA29 The problem is that they take up a lot of space. I agree that they're good, and should be use wherever there is space, (I'm sure over say, a 10 year timespan they're a damn sight cheaper than traffic lights) but London was never designed with motorised traffic in mind, in fact it wasn't designed in the first place, it just sort of happened.

Apparently schemes like these in Holland have been a massive success.

I'm not sure about mini-roundabouts, but regular roundabouts are a GREAT way to get rid of traffic lights as their is a yield sign rather than a traffic light or a stop sign.
