I am getting my information from a former Ranger from the 75th Ranger Regiment. I'm pretty sure he knows his shit. Just like the Navy SEALS, the Rangers are indeed a Special Forces Group and are in fact used for Highly specialized missions and use specialized weapons such as the SCAR. And despite your ignorance of google's uses, it is a very valuable tool if you know what you are looking for.

It's a no wonder you are confused.. you cant use google as a reliable source, it should be used ONLY for porn.

Standard NATO rounds are the 5.56x 45mm (.223 Remington) cartridge for most assault rifles (M16, M4, SA-80, Steyr AUG, FAMAS, G36, etc, and the FN Minimi (M249 in US service)).

7.62x 51mm (.308 winchester) for General Purpose Machine Guns like the M240B (FN MAG-58) for example.

12.7x 99mm (.50 cal) for Heavy Machine Guns like the Browning M2HB.

These sized ammunitions are used by most modern and westernized armies, but Russia and China use their own calibers which are different again.

he just could have said 7.62 NATO and just so u now when he says 7.62 he means 7.62x51 not 7.62x39 witch is shot from the ak47 also the ak-74 shoots the 5.45 round and HAPPY XMAS EVERY ONE =] lol and this is my fav assault rifle ever

I dont know who you know that you think is a Ranger but they are not a Ranger. Like I told jobe66, Rangers are Special Forces. Use google for something other than a porn search and you will see that Rangers are in fact Special Forces.  Part of the Special Operations Command group. USSOCOM. Check it out.
