Last time my dad landed there was 80's or 90's i think in the old airport. (hes a pilot)

Runway lights and an Instrument Landing System have also been installed, making the airport capable of supporting landings during low visibility and at night, and runway designation designed to cater to even bad weather conditions

Sewage Treatment Plant which can separate the liquid from solid waste, which is then processed into an organic material (fertilizer) for the plants. The liquid is recycled for watering purposes

he mechanical building houses the chiller room, and water supply and pump room, while the cooling system for the whole airport is about 2,400kw, consisting of five units of chillers, each having a capacity of 600kw

Entire electrical system of the airport can generate 2,500kVA supply of power, while the generator room is equipped with 4 units of 500kVA standby generator and automatically switch-on during power failure

The 188 hectare state of the art complex is large enough to accommodate future expansions includes the following:

Mechanical building

2-storey Administration Building

Maintenance Building

Fire Rescue Stations with a fleet of Mercedes Benz firetrucks imported from Italy

It's just not the building. The whole complex including the runway is of international standard, and in fact the first in the country to receive a category F as determined by the International Civil Aviation (ICA) Organization.This airport is the most modern in Philippines infrastructure wise. A joint effort of the Phil. government and the Japan Airport Consultants, Inc. and constructed by Taisei-Shimizu Joint Venture of Japan.

Building is of international standard, not the runway. I was there last summer and our plane taxi'd from the runway to go to the other end for takeoff. If I am right, there is only one runway. Going to Cebu is different story. Fly from San Francisco via Hongkong to Cebu avoiding the hustles and customs in Manila. Can Iloilo do the same? On international flights, you need to have Fire/Crash Rescue equipment capable of handling bigger aircrafts to be qualified. Maybe, they don't have this yet.
