Red Moon. Поедем, красотка, кататься.

Home recording of me singing a very old Russian Folk song, "Red Moon" (with translation provided). Had to use a karaoke file as an accompaniment, it is too fast, and the main voice there is too loud, so i had to scream over it, but that was all i had. I have no accompanying musician. If you like to play guitar or other instrument, you are welcome to make a soundtrack for me..:)

- Ты правишь в открытое море,
Где с бурей не справиться нам.

Нельзя доверяться волнам.

А в прошлой, минувшей судьбе,
Ты помнишь, изменник коварный,

Oh, thanks! As far as I remember L.Ruslanova, suffered all the horrors of Stalinism, inspite of her enormous popularuty, or maybe because of it. The final verse , as tragical as it is, simply cannot be removed, because without it, the song simply does not make any sense! It is all about passion, after all!

Janna Bichevskaya doesn't sing the final verse either (but adds 2 extra verses). Janna Aguzarova sang it 3+ weeks ago on New Years Eve and didn't sing the final verse either!

I originally found this page looking for information after hearing Aguzarova's version. Thanks for introducing me to Lidia Ruslanova. The last few days I've been listening to her songs and reading all about her life story. Very interesting!

Interesting, that in Ruslanova's version "the stabbing" part was omitted..I guess was not fit for Communist society.
