  • it really depends on the position your in. If your standing and they are on their back you can "Stack" the person once you feel the armbar closing in. This also works for triangles also. this is putting all your weight toward the head of the opponent and reaching behind is head with your free arm and pulling his head toward your body while pushing your body towards his head. next time i do some video's I will show you God willing.

  • Nice instructing videos dude. i have an important question. If your in an armbar how can you get out without injuring yourself. i know one way but its a difficult way too do and i want to find an easier way.

  • if you are on your back when the opponent brings his leg around to lay back at that precise moment turn into him and jerk very hard, the arm thats being armbarred pulling it past his groin area free. this must be done in jerky motions or one big jerking motion otherwise it doesn't work. of course if this fails just tap and learn to identify the armbar sooner. we all tap remember to stay humble. thanks for the question.

  • I agree. You were loose. Technique looks like it"s developing, but tighten it up :)

  • the technique is not developing and you may test it at any point i am in atlanta! your martial arts instructor should have taught you manners. I show wide ranging loose motions so those that have no idea can get an idea and those who have experience can get a quick reminder. i see you like watching the ego driven instructors who do thier techniques obviously only for experienced persons

  • old school basic techniques

the arm bar switch I've seen in many videos, the machado series was nice

I know ur just demonstrating but u were quite loose on the techniques, tighten it up, or u won't be to successful with those in sparring or tournaments

  • the reason i was loose was so that others that don't know the technique can see. to often i watch video's and the "instructors" are stroking their own ego's with the quick movements and making assumptions as thogh they are teaching high level watchers. well i do my video's for those that may not know anything or those like you that know i need to tighten that up. it's just basics, very basics but some don't know that and feel intimidated by all the ego insturctors

  • O SABRIIIINA kkkk

  • @owaugh Alright.

  • @GeNeStRoNg

If the armbar is applied properly you should "tap"

  • @bigbootyfiend but if some one asks me to explain a technique I will attempt to show the technique as clean as I can, while providing backround philosophy. being tight but not to tight just snug try to avoid using one muscle group workin on postioning and control more than just sumbmissions. this usually gives confidence to risk the sumbmission for they are confident to regain an advantagoues postion. oh and yeah love the machado brothers, nice 1/2 guard and triangles

  • @muslimheatdotcom this is true often times the mechanics are misunderstood by just seeing, and I fully agree with the ego issue I remember intructors while they are teachiing class telling people not to be like that guy pointing to some big dude trying to be bad ass slaming into a punching bag. I don't instruct but I do give insight and when ever I'm not sure I call the instructor over. if I get match up with some with lwr awareness I wont roll so tight givin options to apply what was tuaght

  • @bigbootyfiend even though I try not to have an ego I do come from the gracie line of fighters by way of Carlos Machado through my instructors malcolm and courtenay muhammad, which is any time any place. This isn't directed towards you but my jiu jitsu skills can always be tested. in my opinion their is nothing wrong with "dumbing down" the technique on a youtube video. but i do respect your point of view also. Much success in your training.

  • @bigbootyfiend also just so you know this is the instructor in the video I just realized I'm logged in to a different account. So being relaxed on a video speaks to a certain group of individuals who may otherwise not have the confidence to get real instruction under an instructor on the mat. In know way is any video better than personalized instructions but often it scares alot of people away with the level of expertise and machizmo that is displayed.

  • @ bigbooty you have a valid point. But not the only point. basics should be learned online and perfected in practice with a live instructor on the mat. When i first began to take jiu jitsu I was confused on how to put my body in certain positions. Some people need the confidence to even walk into a gym and get instruction. What happens often is that fighting is taught from an egotistical standpoint, not one of humbleness and understanding for all mindsets and abilities.

  • @maynardr1 you can still be tight and be basic. teaching people to be so loose is just putting holes in their game. you do sound like a good instructor I just find the technique to be a lil crude

  • @GeNeStRoNg hey man a little tip just turn the thumb and roll
