the riaa is asking for $150,000 per song in most lawsuits, meaning that a $250 ipod classic is worth 6 TRILLION dollars. in comparison, the ENTIRE us military budget, widely criticized for being extremely high, is only 680 billion a year.

Just an fyi.. he didn't just download, he shared the music on Kazaa.
But anyway, glad I'm not Joel.

@lohenry According to the Obama administration, you should get sued for 1,000,000,000 which is a quadrillion dollars.

for that kind of money they could make 30 better songs, music video for every one of them and even pay for very good shrink... I downloaded 30 new songs just in the last hour... fuck the RIAA
-
i'm surprised the jews at riaa would chase another jew in court
i thought they protected each other

I am extremely insulted as a customer, I will NEVER buy any music products from them again in my life. This amount of money is absolutely horrendous.

Nancy Gertner, you have my respect, RIAA, not so much
Suing your customers is a very bad business practice...especially when non RIAA artists are selling their music direct via iTunes. BOYCOTT RIAA artists recordings, MP3s, CDs and DVDs until they pressure the RIAA to back the Fuck OFF! Buy 100% Independent music, take down the RIAA goons.
