Locke And Key Official Trailer 2011

Locke & Key is sadly still not coming to TV, as FOX passed on picking the pilot up as a series this May and some talk about potentially shopping it to various cable networks didn't seem to pan out. However, a trailer for the series, culled from footage from the pilot episode, has now appeared online.

Locke & Key tells the story of Nina Locke and her three children, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, who survive an unspeakable horror and attempt to rebuild their lives at Keyhouse, their family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. It is a mysterious New England mansion, with fantastic and transformative keys hidden inside its walls that are also being sought by a hate-filled and relentless creature with ties to the Locke family's past who will stop at nothing to accomplish his sinister goals.

A brilliant comic and story badly misrepresented by this trailer which makes it look like a safe and schmaltzy kiddy show or even tuneless sub Glee when in fact it's darkly horrific and psychopathically so from end to end eg the guy attacking everyone towards the trailer's end's actually the key figure almost from the first page in the comics.

The tone doesn't feel right. Maybe it's just this trailer. The grading of the whole piece should be more like it is in the well scenes, and it seems like the characterizations might be a little off. Of course, this is just a two-minute trailer.
