These are some leftover parts that never got used from an interview I did with Sarah Cracknell of Saint Etienne and Mark Brown's "The Journey Continues" in January 2006.

I always wanted these bits to see the light of day because she has some interesting things to say about "I Was Born On Christmas Day," "Hobart Paving," "Join Our Club" and "He's On The Phone" (plus Kylie doing "Nothing Can Stop Us"), so in December 2007 I put together this visual presentation for my blog, Chart Rigger (www.chartrigger.com).

  • Thanks Razor & A! There was so much more to the interview, but unfortunately time dictated that we could only do what we did there. I'm really shocked to find it's the only interview with her on YouTube, but hopefully fans can find it, and then find it interesting :)

    Thanks for the kind words!

  • This little segment is a great example of how things have changed since I was young. Back then, you just had some album notes and a great image on the record cover. Aside from a few "Rock" dictionaries with little blurbs, you couldn't get any info on your favorite bands. Now there are so many resources, and I think it's great. St. E. and Sarah are the perfect music for this period in my life. Funny enough, I started with Neil Young and so did they...

  • Hobart Paving is definitely my all time favourite.

  • That's great! Thanks for posting this!

  • Hi there, does anyone know where I can get the audio of this without the sound-bed?

  • outstanding interview - for a band member who got little coverage .

  • What's going on in that mirror!??!! Did your place burst into flames as soon as you finished recording this?

  • This is a great article of a very influential & unique band. Great info on the band as well. I have remixed 3 tracks of their's & met them twice.

The only downside to this clip, is the interviewer's inital promting (of what the interview was about). I would suggest a better mic for premium clarity (Shure SM58 & BETA SM58A, CAD GXL2200, Sennheiser VL606-35, MXL V67, et al). But again, a great clip none the less.
