@tiger2hunt4me Privately yes, but think about the social cost of everyone driving SUVs. Greenhouse gas clean up is part of the price of owning a car, as a tax paying citizen.
Actually, we are running low on fossil fuel. Oil to be specific. Oil is not some unlimited resource that humans can keep drawing out of the Earth without end. We have already drawn the highest amount of oil out of Earth that we will ever be able to remove - per year. From now on...oil production is going to decrease each year.
FYI, As statistics and graphing shows, we have PLENTY left, we will have all we can throw away and guzzle for the next century, so if you ask me, we really aren't running low on fossil fuel.
The fact that right now we have SO much bottled up that oil companies are having trouble getting rid of them, says enough, or you can just look at the geographical analysis, or any other statistic on how much oil we have left. Let's just say, we won't run out in our life time, not even close.
Doubtful IMO. the Goverment basically owns the Chevrolet Volt, they funded 60-70% of it's development, it's pretty clear they want it here. So if their plan was to up gas, and to reduce debt, why would they be pushing the highly efficient vehicles out on us so much?
lol who drives over 100 miles everyday? Are you a trucker? The average driver only drives less than 30 miles a day. 100 miles to a 45 minute charge should be enough for the majority of the population.
