!*!*! NOTE: THIS PLUGIN IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD. IT IS CODED FOR MY HOME SETUP ONLY. DO NOT EMAIL ME OR MESSAGE ME ABOUT IT, BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THANK YOU.

A bunch of you guys keep asking me WHY it's not available, and saying I'm a snob or whatever for not making it available. You have to understand that there is a world of difference between a product that is ready for public use, with installers, manuals, all bugs worked out, etc, compared to something I just hacked together for my own use.

I've already released, for free, the interface DLL that I use to draw images onto the keyboard. Any competent programmer could write their own version of my app, and many have.

Why is mine so special? Well, first of all, the entire system you see in the pictures is hard-coded. The names of the buttons, the icons, the two volume bars. That's not in a config file somewhere -- it's all written in raw code. There's no easy "options panel" to change those settings.

Then, the system I wrote here relies on THREE computers. My desktop computer, which has the keyboard attached. My media computer, which is the one that runs Winamp to play the music, and another piece of software called MediaDaemon which the keyboard software connects to. Finally, there's my file server, which runs a MySQL database and keeps track of all of the dates and times and playlists. This setup is more complicated than it seems, and it really can't be easily turned into a piece of software that anyone can just install.

So the question remains: Why did I post it on youtube? I posted it as part of a demo of what can be done with my DLL, and also as part of the chronicle of the innovations I've made to my apartment as a whole. You can see the rest of those innovations at www.avbrand.com, if you want.

A video of the media functions coded by Av in the g15 keyboard.

"Hey guys, look what i've got, but u not" ~.~"

  • @TRkaziator It's just a demo. Get over yourself, I posted this video four years ago... people have made better interfaces than this.

  • this is not THE G15, junge!

  • yes, it is.

  • @AvWuff nope.

no g15 its g11 o some other shit.

  • You're an idiot. The keyboard shown in my video is the original G15 with the blue backlighting. You might notice this video is three years old. Since then, Logitech has reissued the keyboard under the same name, except with orange backlighting, less keys, and a crappier display.

The G11 looks similar to the old G15, except it has no screen.

I suggest you school yourself before you pretend to know what you're talking about.
