Well.. they can if you want by taking out ONE bolt but leaving that one pivot bolt in lets you rotate the wing 90 degrees and stick it in the back of a hangar or trailer for storage. AS you can see in the video, you can rotate the wing for flght in less than three mintues.

Range is approximately 3 hours at 1.3 gal per hour burn rate with a 35hp 4 stroke... so if you're traveling at approximately 80 mph then you can go 240 miles. That's pretty conservative estimates but only a few other ultralights have this kind of range.
