  • Caution: this dance is 200 years older than Miss Austen. The tune was composed by Jan Pietersz Sweelinck during the 1610s... But is´s a fine dance, perfect to perform it in a football stadium during a ceremony !

  • Gorgeous costumes! Oh, dear Miss Austen all the time!!! LOL!!!

  • I had to do this dance in school (for some reason the CA state standards say that 7th graders have to learn multicultural dances... ugh)Our only problem is that the boys can't remember to come in and clap, so we end up a few counts late. Today we were tested on it, and we had improved! We were so happy when the teacher said that we "had slaughtered it" that we started cheering and high fiving, until she said "that wasn't a compliment..."

Well I can't wait to see how my grade turns out...

  • I can't stop chanting:

And the men go in and clap!

And the women go in and clap!

And the men go in and don't clap!

    And we all turn around!

  • the turn and spurn dance! love it!!! ^^
