@asnaes If you think that, you haven't tried much American beer. Right now, American beer is some of the best in the world.

Budweiser, Coors, Miller, and other macrobrewed swill aren't indicative of the entire nation's brewing ability. Find a local brewery, take a tour, and try some of what they're selling.

Try something from the Sierra Nevada, Great Lakes, or Stone brewing companies. They're nationally available, and put many imported beers to shame.

It's ironic that this is the lead Australian beer for the overseas market when here we don't drink it. It's horrible stuff.

And I don't remember the last time anyone referred to beer as "Amber Nectar". It's become slang of the past.

The little guy standing next to Hogan at the bar is Leslie Jordan later seen in Will & Grace and Sordid Lives. He has a stand-up video called My Life Down The Pink Carpet where he talks about meeting Paul Hogan and making this commercial. The story is a lot longer than the commercial - and a lot funnier. It's on Netflix.
