The SOPA blackout waged by Internet giants Wikipedia, Google and thousands of other companies opposed to the SOPA/PIPA bills this week has prompted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to postpone the Senate vote on the PIPA bill.

The SOPA blackout was in reaction to the Stop Online Piracy Act that is currently up for consideration in the House. Mr. Reid postponed the Senate vote on the Protect Intellectual Property Act that was scheduled to have a vote in the Senate on Tuesday.

How will affect YouTube and other sites?: In short, this bill doesn't allow websites (YouTube) to remove videos and users who violate copyright laws BUT will most likely shutdown the ENTIRE website. Think of all the people on YouTube who have music playing in the background, television playing in the background, singing cover songs, showing video games...Please do your research AND call/write your congressperson.

Its funny to me how so many people are in the dark as to what is going on. I been hearing about PIPA & SOPA for the last 3 days or so. I think their rules and regulations stink and we need to do something about it. ASAP!

I think the internet "blackout" that took place a few days ago is what educated a LOT of us that didnt know anything about it.
