Introduction to Psytrance: TechTrance/Psychedelic Techno

Although Psytrance belongs in the Trance family it has many Techno elements as well. Some Psytrance artists decided to focus more (or exclusively) on the Techno elements and the TechTrance/Psychedelic Techno was born.
The landmark in Psychedelic Techno (and Psytrance in general) was X-Dream's album Radio. It had a mechanical sound and Techno-ish percussion and relied more on the rhythm than in melodies.
TechTrance/Psychedelic Techno had its golden period around 1999-2001 especially by German producers.
Many TechTrance/Psychedelic Techno tracks have many similarities with Minimal and Dark Progressive, although many Psy Techno tracks are heavier and faster.
