On June 26, 2009 in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center and Visual Communications presented "A Robot Trifecta". This free outdoor screening featured Astro Boy (1963), the first anime series to be broadcast on TV in Japan, Gigantor (1964), set in the future year of 2000, and Voltron (1984) which was screened to live DJ sets by Rani D, DJ Refine, and Akaider.
