Clear sensible reason? More Respect? How about Monarchies are inherently undemocratic (nominated by birthright), racist (successors can only be a part of the Church of England), sexist (male preference for successor), violate human rights (are legally above our laws and are not 'equal to us), ignore Canada (Queen Victoria never visited Canada, the current Royals barely do), waste of Canadian taxpayer money (any Royal that visits - incl distant cousins have their tab paid by ordinary Canadians)

After reading some of these RIDICULOUS comments i can see that Kidkappa is a fool? 92% is a ridiculous accusation! Polls suggest that an all time low for supporting the Monarchy was at 67% after the death of Diana, it rose again in the early 2000s and has decreased again since 2005 and is currently at about 65%, but that is mostly the French Speaking population. You do realise that the Queen does not have to, nor does she need to, sign any of your ridiculous laws or anything like tht.

The laws of succession do not give preference to male birth

Canada trying to get rid of the monarchy is like a teenage child leaving home and never talking to his parents ever again.
