Racism occurs in all shades of the spectrum. I'm caucasian and I was in a 3 yr relationship with an african-american man. He & I used to get the stink eye & comments from ignorant folks in his race and my own. People of all races need to be retrained in how to accept other people's differences and other people's choices. Humans are more than flesh. The flesh houses the deeper element of the person: their spirit. In essence, we are all spirit beings with different color houses.

Talib Kweli first put me on to this song when I first met him at Nkiru Books (Nkiru Center), he told me it was one of his favorite songs, and since I heard it, it's been one of my favorites too. It addresses a complex issue in a very creative, sophisticated, and easy to understand way. This record is a credit to the unique power of Hip-Hop culture - shout to @bobbitogarcia for always bringin out the best of Hip-Hop Culture, shout to Juggaknots, Queen Heroine, and DJ Boo - KUDOS to @wisegas

amazing. i loved this song as a demo, played it on 89.9 with pride, and felt super fortunate to share it with the world when i released it on my label back in '96. amazing job with the video. 13 years later the lyrics still give me goose bumps as they upon first listen. true hip hop classic. word.

WiseGuy and Gaston showing the love back Bob. We especially wanted you to see it. WE first heard it when you played it as a demo on the Stretch Armstrong show and got to own it when you later released it on Fondle 'Em. In essence, without you this video wouldn't have been made and perhaps this song wouldn't have been so dear to so many. We're just proud to also be able to share this hip hop classic with the world. Thanks to Bobbito and the Juggaknots!
