@capnspleen So what if he didn't come from a rave background? He got big because he's got something a lot of DJ's don't have: TALENT. And it's not like he's been doing this for such a short time, he's been tinkering with music since he was a kid, making beats and music with his tech-savvy background, making new sounds no "real DJ" can even do. A DJ just mixes two turntables, Deadmau5 is an artist that creates music from a myriad of equipment on the spot LIVE.

Deadmau5 is a great DJ, and an even better Producer. If you actually understood what he was doing on stage, you'd have a newfound respect for him, because very few DJ's can do what he does LIVE, and that's make music on the spot. Techno? Nobody listens to techno anymore, so stop generalizing, but Deadmau5 wouldn't even call himself electro-house, he tries to step outside of labels and genres and just likes to make music.

Every DJ has every reason to hate deadmau5, he didnt come from a rave backround, and he talked hella shit on people who mix using turntables which is pretty much every REAL dj. So yeah i understand why somany people hate him, he came into our scene and culture having no history with any of it, got big and then talked shit on the people who had been there for years. And not to mention the fact that he sucked hella bad at EDC this year. Fuck Deadmau5, he is a narcisist who only cares about money.
