HWY 70 from Alamogordo to Las Cruces in New Mexico. The Organ mountains can be seen up ahead. The tune on the radio is Depeche Mode - world through my eyes.

  • It is a beautiful drive for sure, I will be back here at the end of September for another explore of the area and to drive this again :-)

  • I bet you could tie the steering wheel in position, go to sleep for an hour and still be safe on a road like that one. Incredible - and the tune isn't too shoddy either! :-) (Oh Yeah... :-D)

  • @Indy5O0 Funny enuff !!!!!

When you do 40 000 a year up and down the M6 /M1 on our tiny North Atlantic island, this makes for a hell of a view ;-))

  • coming over the the organ mountains into the tularosa basin is one of the best drives anyone can have...just started working for the missle range a year ago.

  • I did the drive from Alamogordo to NMSU for two years to get my Bachelor's Degree. I had every mile of this drive memorized. Hated when they closed the road. Never could time that rightr!

  • One of our favorite highway drives on the planet. Thanks for posting.

  • Are we there yet?

  • @Indy5O0 Sleeping on Hwy 70? Not me! I wouldn't risk hitting an Oryx that sometimes jump the fences to cross the highway. Oryx can do some major damage to any vehicle that hits one. Better to stay alert and safe from the truly "wild" life in that area!
