@olaf2046 HAHA. I had this same car, and that was the exact problem. I bet he has broken a belt by now, and replaced the radiator. The hoses are weak, and you will leak coolant all over the place. e46=slow.

You need new idler and tensioner pulleys. They are old and rattling.

Alleen een Belg kan het interieur van zijn (van buiten erg mooie) auto zo ernstig vernaggelen.... Tip: rijd langs de dealer en haal alles origineel, if not for yourself, do it for future generations... ;)

Nice color of the bimmer, but that radio sucks, destroys the OEM look. You can use the old tape business radio and buy a cheap MP3 cd-changer replacement off ebay. Its small, u can use SDHC cards or USB sticks (even AUX is there) and works with the MFL steering wheel too. And those metal carpets are a pain in my eye too.
But if you like it, it`s your car. Happy kilometers with it :)
